Dear Customer,
Thank you for the confidence you have in MAXIDOR as evidenced in your recent purchase of our products. In spite of MAXIDOR’s attention to quality, our product, like all products with a substantial steel content, remains vulnerable when exposed to certain environmental conditions, regardless of the corrosion treatment received.
As we have little control over what happens to our product after it has been installed at your premises, we have no choice but to leave the responsibility of maintaining the product(s) to you, especially so with an exterior installation!
Although our products have a limited guarantee, this does not imply poor product quality. It rather serves as evidence of our concern for you to have total peace of mind and our desire for you to have a long and trouble-free use of our products. With proper maintenance your MAXIDOR products will last for many years. However, this will require a diligent maintenance program!
We strongly suggest that you view the maintenance of your MAXIDOR products in the same way you view the maintenance of other products; like you motorcar! Without the regular treatment of your dash with a silicone based cleaner or the regular polishing of the exterior to limit the build-up of corrosive, fatty deposits (especially prevalent in high humidity areas), the general appearance and condition of your motorcar will soon deteriorate significantly.
Here are a few suggestions on how to keep your doors looking beautiful and operating smoothly:
Keep the bottom track clean by vacuuming out dirt, sand, etc. when necessary.
Twice a month you need to:
Lubricate inside the bottom and top tracks by spraying lightly with a silicone aerosol such as MAXIDOR Silicone Spray.
Use a damp cloth to remove any tarnishing. Wipe your MAXIDOR products down with a damp silicone cloth. When exposed to rain and sunshine, few metal products will last, irrespective of the treatment it received. Refer to the agreed Conditions of Sale to clarify the guarantee applicable to your particular purchase.
Corrosion can begin when certain minute particles in the air are deposited onto your Maxidor product and react with the surface of your product when moisture is present. Moisture in the air, (either as humidity or rain) acts as a catalyst. Keep in mind that at the nucleus or centre of every raindrop is a minute dust or salt particle. When the rain water has evaporated these minute particles remain on the surface of the product and corrosion can set in. Over time, this reaction becomes visible as ‘rust’!
Please be advised that MAXIDOR reserves the right to nullify the guarantee if it is obvious that the product has been neglected.
Yours truly
Maxidor Management
MAXIDOR’s CURRENT CORROSION PROTECTION: All MAXIDOR components first go through an anti-corrosion treatment process. The product is powder coated with polyester of a higher standard than would normally be required for similar applications. The grade of powder used for Maxidor’s standard colours is the best available, conforms to European standards, is highly UV resistant and provides protection that is at least 30% (and up to 60%) better than average powder coating. All moving parts have nylon components between them that not only protect the superior finish but also serve to seal off and waterproof the uprights. |
